Spider-Woman Receives New Costume

In line with all these trendy and functional Superhero updates (see: Batgirl), Spider-Woman has received her first costume change in 37 years. She’s moving away from her classic, and arguably outdated red and yellow spandex, and into something a little more classy. The design is by Kris Anka, and will be first appearing in the Spider-Man Unlimited game.

Spidey editor Nick Lowe says a few things about the change.

“Spider-Man isn’t really a detective — he swings around looking for trouble, whereas Jess needs to go and figure stuff out and dig things up, and you can’t really do that head to toe in spandex very well. To operate on the level she wants to, she needs something that can pass for semi-normal and she can turn it on to crazy if she needs to.”

Here’s some original art featuring Jessica Drew below.

OR; How The Grinch Stole Swamp Thing

With the release of DC’s March Solicitations, which you can find here at Comic Book Resources, have heralded a bunch of pretty cool new material, like the start of “The Darkseid War” in Justice League, and the new Convergence event. However, with all these new titles, DC is cleaning up it’s schedule and unfortunately throwing some dearly beloveds out the window.

Some of these, like Batman Eternal and Future’s End, which are weekly series, were already scheduled to end anyway, so it’s no huge crime that we’re losing them. However, we’re losing a few new gems, and some long-time favourites, unfortunately due to sales and/or writers leaving their posts (I’m looking at you, Charles Soule!)

We have the complete list of cancellations below.
