5 Great, Accessible Avengers Runs for Beginners

With the release of the Age of Ultron, the Avengers have reclaimed their post in being one of the most popular superhero franchises. So what better time to get into the comics? There’s a whole 50 years of content worth exploring, with plenty of lore and battles to read about. However, it can be a little daunting to find a good run, or even an easy access point.

We’ve decided to make the job a little easier for you guys. Compiled here is a list of what we think are the most accessible, and also quality Avengers runs. We’ve tried to spread it out over the decades, so you can get a taste of how the team was in every era. Die-hard fans, bear in mind that some of your favourite runs may not be included, as they can be a bit too reliant on past lore. We’ll get to yours later.

Super Team’s Favourite Comics of 2014

It’s been a big year for comics everywhere. Smaller publishers have come into the spotlight (Boom, Oni Press, IDW, Image) and the Big 2 have come off there high horses for a few more intimate, relatable series. What We’d Like To See In “Krypton”

Krypton

So we’ve received confirmation of a new TV series to add to DC’s already cluttered schedule, and it’s a big one. Run by David S. Goyer, popular comics figure, the show features Seyg-El, the grandfather of Superman, in a psuedo-Game of Thrones style series, where he tries to unite and bring Krypton into it’s veritable renaissance.

There’s a lot of potential for original material here, which I’m sure is what Goyer aims to utilise. A lot of it is untrodden ground, even in the comics scene, so there’s a lot of room for creative control. However, that doesn’t mean that the DC universe doesn’t have stories from that era anyway. We’re going to look at some potential DC stars we’d like to see in “Krypton”.

The Silver Screen – Comics We’d Love To See On TV

These days, our televisions are packed with comic book adaptions. From The Walking Dead, to Arrow, and even Agents of SHIELD, there’s a growing market for these adaptions, which so far have all seen immense success. Bearing that in mind, we thought we’d come up with a few we’d like to see on TV. Yes, some may be a bit too big-budget for your silver screens, and some a bit off-beat, but with the success of properties like Guardians of the Galaxy, The Flash and others, there’s a good chance they’ll find an audience.
