“iZombie” Premier Announced, Trailer Released

ComicBookResources report that The CW have announced that “iZombie”, the adaptation of Chris Roberson and Mike Allred’s Vertigo series, will debut on Tuesday, March 17th this year. We’ve also been given a teaser trailer to keep us busy, and it’s pretty great.

The show stars Rose McIver as young, hip Olivia “Liv” Moore, who also happens to be living as a Zombie. According to the synopsis, she’s “a rosy-cheeked, disciplined, overachieving medical resident who had her life path completely mapped out…until the night she attended a party that unexpectedly turned into a zombie feeding frenzy. As one of the newly undead, Liv is doing her best to blend in and look as human as possible.”

Rob Thomas, the shows creative and executive producer, has spoken out about the tone of the show, from Hollywood Reporter: “We didn’t hue terribly close to the source material,” Thomas told reporters of the comic that also features ghosts and vampires. “In the comic, there’s a whole monster universe … and we wanted to stay strictly zombie. We really needed a story engine. We wanted a case-of-the-week show. In the comic, the character is a grave digger. By making her an assistant medical examiner and putting her in the morgue, it gave us our case of the week that we wanted.”

“iZombie” will also star Malcolm Goodwin as Clive Babineaux, Rahul Kohli as Dr. Chakrabarti, Robert Buckley as Majoy Lilywhite and David Anders as Blaine DeBeers. Keep an eye out for it’s debut, we’ll be covering it.
